Make a Camden Bag over 2 sessions



These capacious, substantial and stylish bags are hugely popular, and offer the opportunity to try a new technique. Use 21/2 inch strips from your stash, or choose a succession of fabrics to get just the look you want. Half a jelly roll will do the job nicely. Add some oversize statement buttons for a final flourish, and you are ready to go!

Requirements List:
-17 Assorted fabric strips (2.5”x44”) i.e. half of a Jelly Roll or Bali Pop
-75cm of co-ordinating fabric
-Variegated thread to match the fabric and a plain thread for the bindings
-2 large buttons
-Pattern and package of stabilisers available from Spinning Weal for £42.40:
16 x 2.25” x 44” strips of fusible wadding
60cm of fusible ultra firm double sided stabiliser
55cm of pelmet vilene
-44” plumbing/brewing Tube (8mm Diameter) supplied by teacher

-Basic sewing kit (needles, pins, scissors, thimble, etc
-Sewing Machine with Zig Zag foot (and ¼” foot if available). Please bring instruction book if you have one
-Small iron and mat if available
